Leigh Ann‘s bouquet was a nosegay of White Siberian lilies with the stems tied in white satin.
Leigh Ann‘s bridesmaids carried nosegays of mixed spring flowers including green hydrangeas; ravel roses; yellow, red, and purple tulips; purple, pink, and orange freesia; and purple irises.
"It had stormed badly the night before, and the morning of the wedding didn‘t look very promising either. Still, we chose to go for having it outside and prayed the rain would hold off," Leigh Ann remembers. The rain indeed went away, and by the afternoon sunlight was pouring down. The bride‘s uncle officiated the ceremony, using her grandfather‘s Bible. A prayer inscribed in the front of it was read aloud during the ceremony, making the event even more personalized.
Instead of having a groom‘s cake, guests found a spread of assorted pastries at the "Groom‘s Table." "Our florist gave this table a decorative touch by taking Nick‘s golf bag and shoes and filling them with sunflowers and scattering other masculine accents, like a basket of Montesino cigars, around the desserts for guests to enjoy," says Leigh Ann.
Southern charm was abundant at Leigh Ann and Nick's wedding, which took place at an antebellum home draped in wildflowers in Mississippi.

"I accepted my first teaching job out of college in Nick's hometown of Senatobia, Mississippi," says Leigh Ann. "Within my first year of teaching there I had met his mother who was the speech pathologist at the school. She put the bug in both our ears that she thought we might hit it off." It wasn't to pass, however -- Leigh Ann had made a rule for herself that she wouldn't date a fellow teacher's son. As luck would have it, Leigh Ann and Nick happened to meet through mutual friends. It turned out that Nick's mom had been right -- the two were soon inseparable!
