"When it came to deciding a color theme for the wedding there was no discussion," remarks Krisa. "I am a red freak! I love red everything." Krisa infused the wedding with her bold color choice from the very beginning. She hired a local print shop to recreate the "funky but elegant" red and black invitations she found in a magazine. Krisa also sealed her wedding programs and favors with red monogrammed stickers. "The church even had red carpet with red cushions on the pews!" Krisa laughs. And of course, you can guess what color the flowers were.
The bride walked down the aisle with a classic clutch of short-stemmed red roses bound with white ribbon. Her bridesmaids carried red amaryllis filled with seeded eucalyptus, and the flowers girls dropped red rose petals.

Krisa and Taylor chose a beautiful church in the historic district of Vicksburg for their afternoon ceremony. "Vicksburg is known for its history and we wanted to incorporate that into our wedding as much as our spiritual beliefs," the bride explains. The couple personalized the historic setting by hanging monogrammed banners from the doors, and inside, brass candleholder trimmed in garland of plumose fern and ribbon lined the path to the altar, and spiral candelabra draped with garlands of mixed greenery, plumose fern, and baby‘s breath adorned the altar. Two close friends of the couple read the scripture and the preacher recited "The Hands," adding to the intimacy of the event.
The groom‘s table offered a tower of monogrammed cupcakes plus a double chocolate-flavored cake shaped like a music note.
Krisa and Taylor hosted two receptions and focused on the color red to add romance to their wedding in Vicksburg, Mississippi.

Though their friendship didn't begin until their freshmen year at Mississippi State University, Krisa and Taylor had been schoolmates since junior high. "I think we had one class together that whole time, and he slept through the whole thing!" Krisa remembers. During their first year at MSU, however, Krisa and Taylor became best friends. "We used to set each other up with our fraternity brothers and sorority sisters, until we finally realized we were wasting our time," she recalls. "We just wanted to be together!" After dinner with his mother and stepfather one Friday night in 2002, Taylor took Krisa to the same spot the two had snuck out to a few years earlier as college students. "He took me back to our spot, we got out of the car and danced to 'How Sweet It Is To Be Loved By You' performed by the Jerry Garcia Band. Then he proposed," Krisa excitedly says. "It was all very sentimental and exciting."
